A 250 ml rectangular Silkolene Lubricants motor oil tin. The red lithographed body features the brand logo in gold and white script above a graphic of a jet aircraft. The base is printed with Dalton & Co. Ltd. Oil Refinery, Belper, Derbyshire, England, Phone 2374. The reverse repeats the logo and jet graphic above a bordered area for a product label and 250 ML. at the base. The tin is fitted with a fixed cream-coloured plastic nozzle and a visible vertical seam to one side.

Height 12 cm, total height 16 cm including nozzle.


Condition report:

good original unrestored condition. Surface oxidation and rust are visible along the top and bottom rims and down the side seams (photo 1, 4). The red lithographed surface shows fine scratches and scuffs, The plastic nozzle is yellowed and discoloured with a dark residue at the tip (photo 1). The tin shows general surface grime consistent with a garage environment.
