Buyer's Premium: 16%

A lithographed tin novelty confectionery tin in the form of a tapered milk churn. The body features cream ground bands with burgundy lettering and copper-toned horizontal banding. The upper section is printed Cadbury’s Dairy, with the central copper band displaying a graphic of a milk pail and the letters CDM. The lower cream band is printed Milk Chocolate. The tin is surmounted by a flared, saucer-shaped lid in a dark metallic finish. The base section is finished in a dark burgundy ground.

5 3/4 inches tall.

Condition report:

The tin shows significant surface oxidation and foxing to the lithographed areas throughout (photo 1). There is widespread patina, darkening, and surface wear to the metallic finishes on the lid and bands (photo 2). Small scuffs and minor chips to the lithography are visible consistent with age (photo 1). The structural form remains sound.
