A Johnnie Walker lithographed tin advertising perpetual calendar of rounded rectangular form with a gold-tone border. The white ground features the Striding Man figure dressed in a red coat, yellow top hat, and breeches with a walking cane, positioned above the brand name printed in red serif lettering. To the left is the slogan BORN 1820- STILL GOING STRONG printed in black. A gold-tone aperture displays three adjustable discs for the month and date. The reverse is fitted with a wire strut for tabletop display and an integrated hanging loop. A rectangular paper label to the reverse provides mounting instructions in English, French, Spanish, and Italian, beginning with the header TO HANG. The metal reverse shows some spotting and includes a small white adhesive price sticker reading E45 124 TS.
Measures approximately 10 inches by 7.75 inches.
Condition report:
The item is in good condition with minor surface scratches and small paint chips to the front lithography, most notably on the black boots (photo 2) and near the letter J (photo 1). The white ground has a light overall patina. The calendar mechanism appears to be in working order.
