A Currie’s No. 10 Perth Whisky advertising counter-top display figure. The kilted figure, a caricature of a Scottish gentleman or Laird, is depicted in traditional Highland dress comprising a dark green doublet over a white ruffled cravat and waistcoat. He wears a red-based tartan kilt with a matching plaid draped over the shoulder, a formal sporran with three black tassels, and tartan hose. He is shown holding a small whisky glass in his right hand. The figure is mounted on a rectangular plinth base with a pale green top surface and wood-effect sides. The front and sides of the base bear printed red lettering reading CURRIE’S No. 10 PERTH WHISKY below a line of black script reading Here’s - All the very best. No maker’s marks are visible.
Height: 14 inches.
Condition report:
The painted surface remains vibrant with only minor scattered paint chips and scuffs to the high points of the green jacket and the rear of the shoulder plaid (photos 3 and 4). The figure is structurally sound with no visible breaks to the limbs or the glass element. There is light surface wear and minor lifting to the paper labels on the sides of the base (photo 2).
